This product has been around for few years now, but mainly in UV, visible and very recently, some development have taken place into the telecom wavelengths as a alternative to optical switches. 

Barr Associates Ltd has been producing those filters in the Infrared for 3 years now and offers an excellent solution in terms of price/timescale thanks to our very flexible system.

These optical filters can offer many advantages for OEM customers; for example, one filter alone can replace many in a multi-gas analysis application. 

Our typical ranges are:

• Spectrally: 3 to 5µm, 9 to 11µm and 5.5 to 11µm, but we have produced filters up to 14µm.

• Dimensions: 3 x 15mm, but we can work on parts up to 50mm long.

• Gradient: We are also able to achieve gradients from 0.4 up to 1µm/mm, with a linearity close to perfect.
